Paul Gallagher

Paul Gallagher is currently Head of Technical Marketing in the Office of the CTO at Applied Materials Engineered Optics Group. He is focusing on transitioning meta-optic solutions from the lab to commonly used products. His responsibilities include identifying and engaging new markets and customers related to the productization of metasurface optics, as well as managing relationships with existing planar and waveguide optics customers.
With more than 30 years of technical and business experience in image sensors, optics, camera systems and image processing, he has been at the start of many now well-established image-based products and markets. His experience spans products and solutions as diverse as nuclear missile navigation to the Barbie Cam. He ran the marketing and business development teams for several of the top image sensor suppliers as well as numerous start-ups.
He has an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BE in Engineering Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology. Paul holds 13 patents and has written over 25 papers for journals and magazines.
