Vice President of Product Development
Dr. James Foresi joined TriLumina Corporation as Vice President of Product Development in 2017 and is responsible for taking TriLumina’s advanced illumination products for 3D sensing systems from prototype to production. Before joining TriLumina, Dr. Foresi was the Vice President of Engineering at Suncore Photovoltaics where developed Concentrating Photovoltaic systems, resulting in the largest deployment of these systems worldwide. Prior to this, Dr. Foresi developed integrated optical products for telecommunication systems as Vice President of Engineering at Clarendon Photonics – a venture backed start-up. Dr. Foresi received his PhD in Material Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997.
TriLumina Corporation develops infrared illumination modules for 3D sensing and lidar applications in the commercial, industrial and automotive markets. TriLumina’s products are based on patented solid-state, vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) technology. This unique solution consists of flip-chip, back-emitting VCSELs with optional monolithic microlenses meeting stringent automotive AEC-Q100 Grade 1 temperature requirements (-40C to +125C) as well as AEC-Q102 quality requirements. TriLumina’s innovations establish a robust platform for the rapid development of a host of next generation 3D sensing technologies with sophisticated illumination requirements. TriLumina is a venture-backed company based in Albuquerque, NM with a current staff of approximately 35 employees.
